The following individuals are appointed as members of the Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board:
Rodica E. Richmond will serve a four year term expiring on December 31, 2021. Ms. Richomond represents human trafficking survivors.
Jayashree Kommareddi will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2022. Ms. Kommareddi is the office manager for Prasad Kommareddi, M.D. She previously held leadership positions with the Genesee County Medical Society Alliance, Michigan State Medical Society and the American Democracy Project at the University of Michigan-Flint. She currently serves on the boards of the Mott Children's Health Center in Flint and Genesee County's Free Medical Clinic. She also recently chaired the initiative on child sex trafficking for the Michigan Women's Commission. Ms. Kommareddi earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from Delhi University in India. She represents individuals with experience and expertise in the field of intervention in or prevention of human trafficking or treatment of human trafficking survivors.
Debi Cain is the Director of the Division of Victim Services at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Cain serves as a designated representative from the Department of Health and Human Services. She is also serving on the state's Human Trafficking Commission.
Sheila Meshinski will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2022. Ms. Meshinski is the staff development instructor for emergency services at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. She has been an emergency nurse for more than 35 years and has served as a sexual assault and forensic nurse. Ms. Meshinski earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Nazareth College. She represents registered professional nurses with experience in an emergency department, emergency room, or trauma center of a hospital.
Dr. James Blessman will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2021. Dr. Blessman is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences at Wayne State University and the medical director for occupational health services for Michigan Urgent Care. He holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Michigan and a medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He represents individuals licensed to practice medicine and recommended by the Speaker of the House.
Brigette Robarge will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2023. Ms. Robarge represents human trafficking survivors.
Stacy Doctoroff will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2022. Ms. Doctoroff of Huntington Woods is a therapist and the owner of Stacy K. Doctoroff LLPC, LLC. She served 10 years as a paralegal before pursuing a counseling career. Doctoroff holds a bachelor's degree in legal studies from Grand Valley State University and a master's in counseling from Oakland University. She represents mental health professionals.
Dr. Subburaman Sivakumar will serve a three-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2021. Dr. Sivakumar is president of Subburaman Sivakumar Medical Group and medical director and CEO of Michigan Academic Hospitalist Group. He is also a physician at St. Mary Mercy Hospital where he serves on the Medical Executive Committee, and he is a member of the strategy council at St. John Providence Health System. Dr. Sivakumar earned his medical degree from Tirunelveli Medical College. He represents individuals licensed to practice medicine and recommended by the Senate Majority Leader.
