Labor and Economic Opportunity
This program is designed to teach students basic construction skills to work in the construction industry. The program focuses on safety, hand/power tool use and hands-on construction skills in carpentry, while building employability skills. Students can earn 4 Nationally recognized certifications in the program. The Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) curriculum is supported by the Home Builders Institute (HBI) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Job opportunities increase with training and industry certifications. Starting pay may range from the current minimum wage to a higher amount depending on the location of the job. It will also depend on whether you are working in residential, commercial, union or non-union employment.
