The following beaches provide either a stable surface to allow easier access to the waterfront, a beach access chair (a lightweight all-terrain wheelchair that can also go into the water) or both.
  • Bay City State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront (seasonally).

    This park also has a beach wheelchair that is available for use year-round.

  • Brighton Recreation Area

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Dodge #4 State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Fort Custer Recreation Area

    There is an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Grand Haven State Park

  • Harrisville State Park

    There is water access from the campground with an accessible walkway.

  • Hoffmaster State Park

    There are two beach wheelchairs available to borrow (call teh poark or check at the contact station).

  • Holland State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Interlochen State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Island Lake Recreation Area

    There is water access from the campground with an accessible walkway.

  • Lakeport State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Ludington State Park

    There is an accessible walkway down to the waterfront in the Lake Michigan day-use area.

    There are beach wheelchairs available to borrow in both the Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake day-use areas.

  • McLain State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Mears State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

  • Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area

    This beach offers an accessible walkway from the concession stand to the beach, and across the beach down to the waterfront.

    A beach wheelchair is available to borrow. Please visit the concession store located in the beach house.

  • Seven Lakes State Park

    The beach offers an accessible mat down to the water.

  • Silver Lake State Park

    This park has two beach wheelchairs available for use.

  • Sleepy Hollow State Park

    This beach offers an accessible walkway down to the waterfront.

    This park also has a beach wheelchair that is available for use.

  • South Higgins State Park

    There is an accessible walkway down to the waterfront (near the boat launch).

    A beach wheelchair that is available to borrow by calling the park or visiting the campground office.

  • Tawas Point State Park

    The walkway is not available at this time due to high water.
