Fisheries biologists, technicians and management teams are constantly working to make decisions on how best to manage Michigan's fisheries. Making scientific, research-based decisions on rearing and stocking fish, regulations for fishing the Great Lakes, inland lakes and streams, and how to manage invasive species are just some of the key elements of what our Fisheries staff are doing a daily basis.
Their hard work results in a flourishing fishing industry that enables you to enjoy all that Michigan's waters have to offer.
Each management unit is responsible for setting regulations and making decisions for the waters in their portion of the state, both inland and Great Lakes.
