No matter how you reach the finish line - walk, run or hike - you pick the pace and the place, as long as it's outdoors. You have between April 22-30, 2021 to complete it. For good measure, Earth Day and Arbor Day serve as bookends to this state parks-supporting race!
All proceeds will support tree-planting and forest protection efforts (such as invasive plant and forest pest management and early detection surveys) in state parks and recreation areas, including locations affected by tree pests and diseases like emerald ash borer and oak wilt.
- Walk, run or hike - you pick the pace and the place, as long as it's outdoors.
- Complete your 5K - that's 3.1 miles! - between April 22 (Earth Day) and April 30 (Arbor Day).
- It's an "honor system" event, so just tie up your shoes and enjoy!
- Feel free to wear your Happy Little T-shirt and bib during your race; when you're done, proudly add the medal.
Although outdoor exercise offers a great opportunity to remain socially distanced, current public health and safety guidelines must still be followed to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Please keep at least 6 feet between yourself and people from other households. Have a face covering handy, too, for any unexpected gatherings along your route.
