Since 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) has led the way in building awareness, providing education, and inspiring hope to everyone involved in the effort to prevent the child abuse and neglect of our nation's children. Working with state chapters, PCA America provides leadership to promote and implement prevention efforts at both the national and local levels. With the help of state chapters and concerned individuals PCA America is valuing children, strengthening families, and engaging communities nationwide.
The Michigan Children's Trust Fund has served as Michigan's co-chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America since 1999. We currently partner with Michigan's Children as co-chapters of Prevent Child Abuse Michigan. Until 2009 the former Children's Charter of the Courts of Michigan served as our co-chapter.
CTF through it's partnership with PCA America will:
Provide leadership in state-level advocacy to enhance prevention policies and programs in Michigan.
Increase public awareness of child abuse prevention through the development and distribution of resource materials, and by working with PCA-America on the promotion of national media campaigns.
Evaluate programs and act as a source of comprehensive information and research on child abuse prevention.
Promote promising strategies, supported by evidence based research, at both the state and local levels so that communities have access to the information, skills and resources necessary to provide meaningful services for families with young children.
CTF is a member of The Children's Trust Fund Alliance, which has served as the national membership organization for state children's trust and prevention funds for 30 years and ensures all states have a strong, effective children's trust or prevention fund capable of leading and investing in strategies, policies, and best practices that prevent child abuse and neglect before it occurs.
