2007 U.S. Data*


  • 1,714,643 births were to unwed parents - the highest ever registered for the United States.

  • There were 850,000 teen pregnancies.

  • 100 teen girls get pregnant each hour!

2007 Michigan Data**


Out of 124,549 total births in Michigan:

  • 48,259 or 38.7% of births were to unwed parents.

  • There were 12,664 teen pregnancies (younger than age 20).

  • 90.8% of those teens were unwed.
