Grants and Community Services Division
The Grants and Community Services Division (GCSD) of the Michigan State Police (MSP) administers federal, state and private grants and initiatives, including the statewide Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne JAG), the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners (RSAT), and the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA). In addition, the GCSD writes and manages competitive grant applications and awards for the MSP. The GCSD also houses the MSP Prevention Services Section, which provides overall support for MSP’s Community Service Troopers (originally funded by a 2010 federal grant), and partners with numerous government agencies and community groups to bring MSP into the forefront of community engagement and outreach.
