Motor Carrier Officer of the Year
MC Ofcr. Joshua McGeathy of the Houghton Lake Post was named Motor Carrier Officer of the Year.
The Motor Carrier Officer of the Year Award recognizes the MSP motor carrier officer who symbolizes outstanding professional ethics, dedication to duty and concern for giving back to their community.
“Motor Carrier Officer McGeathy’s colleagues regard him as an expert in commercial vehicle enforcement and crash investigation,” said Colonel Gasper. “His reputation of positive and outstanding work performance and relentless commitment to service make him an excellent choice for the Motor Carrier Officer of the Year Award.”
McGeathy makes it a priority to maintain great working relationships with the law enforcement agencies and road commissions in his patrol area, and he is often called upon by them for assistance.
McGeathy’s positive image extends into his community too, where he volunteers to support various organizations including Special Olympics Michigan. McGeathy is also active at his church where he participates in a children’s ministry and youth outreach program.
McGeathy enlisted with the MSP in 2011, graduating as a member of the 17th Motor Carrier Officer Recruit School.
