    Existing FFELP loans originally issued by MFA-SLP are serviced by Nelnet who can assist with:

    • Making on-line payment(s) on your loan(s) and even receive a 0.25% interest rate reduction by signing up for auto debit.
    • Payment plan options.
    • Forbearance or Deferment.
    • Loan information including balance, payment, and interest rates.
    • Loan Forgiveness or Discharge.

    *NOTE - FFELP lending ceased in 2010.  Since this date, all federal loans have been issued directly by the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Direct Loan Program.


    Student Loan ProgramsMFA-Student Loan Programs has been assisting citizens of Michigan with higher education services since 1975. While no longer issuing new loans, MFA-SLP continues to provide repayment assistance to existing borrowers of the Federal Family Education Loan (FFELP) and the Michigan Alternative Student Loan (MI-LOAN) Programs, including: loan servicing oversight, delinquency prevention, default resolution, and loan rehabilitation.
