Please allow one hour to tour the museum and the outdoor exhibits. The park offers the Historic Higgins Lake Nursery, camping, picnicking, hiking, and swimming.
North Higgins Lake State Park is open daily, year-round, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, Higgins Lake Nursery and CCC Museum are closed to the public until further notice. Visit the DNR COVID-19 information page for updates.
Admission is free. A Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport is required for entry to the park.
The Higgins Lake Nursery and CCC Museum is located in North Higgins Lake State Park near Roscommon, 15 miles south of Grayling, along Roscommon Road. Exit from I-75 or U.S. 127.

While visiting the Higgins Lake Nursey and CCC Museum, the following amenities are available:
Personal photography without flash for private use is permitted in the buildings and on the grounds. Photographs may not be published, sold or otherwise distributed for commercial purposes.
Photography for weddings and other special events is allowed on the grounds and in the buildings during regular open hours with advance permission. Please contact us in advance to schedule a time.
All public buildings are accessible. Designated parking is available. Trails through interpretive areas are graded and constructed of crushed limestone gravel. Service animals are always welcomed.
Pets accompanied by and under the control of their human friends are welcome on the grounds of this site. Pets may not enter any building. For more information, see the Department of Natural Resources Pet-Friendly Rules.
