When can I reasonably expect a return phone call?
If you are in a Non-Universal Caseload County:
You should expect a return call within two business days. If your worker does not return your call within two business days you may contact his or her supervisor. If that doesn't resolve the problem, you may call the local office and request to speak with the next immediate supervisor. You can find the phone number for your local MDHHS office online at www.michigan.gov/dhs-countyoffices.
If you are in a Universal Caseload County:
When calling 1-844-4MI-DHHS (1-844-464-3447), you will be given the opportunity to hear automated information about your case. If after hearing your case information, you still have questions, you will be able ask to speak to a worker. If there is a ‘wait time’ to speak to a worker, instead of waiting on hold, you will be given the opportunity to receive a callback no later than the next business day.
