Alan Kimichik, Inspector General and Deputy Director
Alan Kimichik is Inspector General and deputy director for the Inspector General Administration of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
In that role, he conducts and oversees activities to prevent, detect and investigate fraud, waste and abuse in MDHHS programs, including those in the Michigan Children’s Services Agency and the Aging and Adult Services Agency.
Previously, Kimichik served in a similar role for 12 years as Inspector General for the former Department of Human Services. In that role, Kimichik successfully developed and implemented a statewide fraud prevention program, resulting in millions of dollars of taxpayer savings and cost avoidance, while improving public assistance program integrity.
Kimichik has more than 27 years of experience in law enforcement and criminal justice programs with the State of Michigan. He also has served as senior investigative executive and director of the Office of Investigative Services for the Department of State, overseeing all fraud control activities for the agency. He has also served in supervisory investigative roles with the Michigan.
