The Michigan WIC Program Expanded Food Choices

To meet the needs of WIC clients during COVID-19, the Michigan WIC Program is authorizing additional food choices and packages sizes in the Michigan Food Guide until further notice. A detailed list of the changes by food category is listed in this linked document.

Attention WIC Vendors:

It is mandatory that all WIC Vendors provide both a valid email address and a valid mailing address. WIC Vendors are responsible for all communications sent to them electronically or via postal mail. If you have not yet submitted an email address, you may send an email to with the vendor's name, address, and vendor number.


Attention WIC Vendors:
The Michigan WIC Program has scheduled 2 opportunities to participate in our new online interactive training webcasts. Attending one of these webcasts will fulfill the Michigan WIC Program's mandatory training requirement for the current contract cycle. These links are used to both register and access the webcasts. Vendors may also access a recording of a WIC Vendor training presentation provided below and in the training section of this page.

Attention WIC Pharmacy Vendors:

Michigan WIC Formula Update - Changes Effective November 1, 2019

Below are 2 new formulas Michigan WIC has added to the Authorized Formula List. Each formula and flavor has a unit and case UPC that has been added. It is important that these UPCs are added to your system and your APL has been updated. Effective 11/1/19 WIC participants may be prescribed these formulas and attempt to redeem their benefits at your pharmacy. If you have any questions please call the WIC Helpline 1-800-942-1636.

 WIC Food Updates

 Updates: Effective February 8, 2019:

Post Bran Flakes formula has changed to no longer meet the WIC required iron content. Therefore, Post Bran Flakes is no longer authorized for sale via WIC transactions.

Effective December 17, 2018: 

The Michigan WIC Program has removed restrictions for WIC-authorized eggs, allowing purchase of brown or white eggs of various sizes by the dozen. Egg update food guide inserts including news regarding the WIC Connect App and clarifications regarding yogurt and juices are included below. *Inserts are periodic updates of the food guide.*
