December 16, 2013 -  A dry Christmas tree is extremely flammable and could rapidly become a towering inferno in your living room endangering lives and your home.  Please join us for a live demonstration that will show just how fast fire can engulf a dry Christmas tree.    

State Fire Marshal Richard Miller and Grandville Fire Department Fire Marshal Lynnae White will discuss fire safety tips especially important during the holidays, including safety with candles, electrical fires, smoke alarm maintenance and testing, and the importance of having a home fire escape plan.

LOCATION:   Grandville Department of Public Works
                     4095 White Street, SW (in the back lot)
                     Grandville, MI  49418

DIRECTIONS:  I-196 west to exit 70 (Wilson & 28th St.).  Go straight through the light at the end of the exit.  Take the first road to the right (Oakes St.) and go one block.  You will be at Franklin and Oakes.  Go across Franklin into the gated/fenced in area.  This is the back lot of DPW.                             

Grandville Fire Department will have an Engine Company/crew on scene to extinguish the burning tree and there will be a safety officer assigned to the scene to ensure safety.
