MPSC Approves Settlement Agreement Authorizing Consumers Energy Company to Reconcile Certain Electric and Natural Gas Residual Balance Amounts

August 29, 2013 - The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement authorizing Consumers Energy Company to reconcile certain electric and natural gas utility residual balance amounts, as previously approved in Case No. U-16759.

Under the terms of the settlement, residential natural gas customers using 100 ccf of natural gas a month will see a decrease of $4.53 on their October bill; residential electric customers using 500 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month will see an increase of 27 cents on their October bill.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
