Warren Licensed Professional Counselor Summarily Suspended

August 5, 2013 - The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has immediately suspended the Michigan license to practice as a licensed professional counselor of Paul Edward Isbell, L.P.C., of Warren, Michigan based on his felony conviction in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.

On May 29, 2013, Isbell was convicted of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony.  Isbell was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 60 months, to be followed by supervised release for a period of 84 months with terms, and ordered to pay an assessment.

On July 25, 2013, LARA issued an order summarily suspending Isbell’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon the conviction of a felony, a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of two years, or a controlled substance-related conviction.
