Lansing Veterinarian Summarily Suspended

July 24, 2013 - The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has immediately suspended the Michigan license to practice veterinary medicine of Kathleen Luttinen Williams, D.V.M. of Lansing, Michigan.

On January 24, 2013, Williams was convicted of Animals-Abandoning/Cruelty to 2 or 3 Animals, a misdemeanor. Williams was sentenced to one day in jail (with credit for one day); ordered to pay restitution, fees and costs; and placed on probation for a period of two years with terms.

On July 15, 2013, LARA issued an order summarily suspending Williams’ license pursuant to the Public Health Code which provides for the summary suspension of a health professional’s license when it finds that the public health, safety, or welfare requires emergency action.
