July 17, 2013 - The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has immediately suspended the Michigan license to practice as a licensed bachelor's social worker of Laura Lynn Turner, L.B.S.W., of Fowlerville, Michigan based on her felony conviction in the 44th Judicial District Court, Livingston County, Michigan.
On January 26, 2012, Turner was convicted of Embezzlement-Agent or Trustee $1,000.00 or More but Less than $20,000.00, a felony. Turner was sentenced to probation for a period of five years with specified terms and ordered to pay fines, assessments and restitution in the amount of $120,559.00.
On July 9, 2013, LARA issued an order summarily suspending Turner's license pursuant to the Public Health Code which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional's license upon the conviction of a felony.
