October 19-25, 2014: Healthcare Quality Week

WHEREAS, the people of Michigan are concerned with quality, cost, access to and safety of health care; and

WHEREAS, improved health care outcomes result in better quality of life and decreased health care costs, which ultimately benefits the citizens of Michigan; and

WHEREAS, health care quality professionals make a positive contribution to improved health care quality by educating, monitoring processes and outcomes, analyzing data to facilitate improved systems, helping to integrate new evidence based practices, maintaining high ethical standards and leading continual improvement initiatives in the varied health care organizations providing service to the citizens of Michigan; and

WHEREAS, the delivery of high quality, cost-effective and safe health care to its citizens is important to the state of Michigan; and

WHEREAS, health care quality professionals across Michigan have demonstrated a commitment to these goals in their work across the health care delivery system,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim October 19 - 25, 2014 as Healthcare Quality Week in Michigan.
