Granholm Says Ongoing Efforts to Foster a Green Economy More Imperative Than Ever

In her weekly radio address, Governor Granholm said that Michigan's ongoing efforts in fostering the alternative energy sector and a green economy are more imperative than ever given this week's particularly gloomy economic news.

More than $13 million in Recovery Act Funding Anticipated for Rural Transit Agencies and Rural Intercity Bus Service Lieutenant Governor John D. Cherry, Jr. today announced that $13.2 million in funding for rural transit agencies and rural intercity bus service from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) will be submitted to the Federal Transit Administration for approval.
Granholm Says Michigan Will Lead Way to Energy Independence Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today said that Michigan is uniquely positioned to lead the nation in finding solutions that will lead to the United States' energy independence, with a revamped auto industry being an integral part of that solution.
