Governor Engler announced today that the state has posted a detailed list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on preparedness at the www.Michigan.gov web portal. The FAQs provide tips on preparing a security plan for your family, steps to take in the event of a chemical emergency, information about bioterrorism and answers to dozens of other questions.
"The best thing you can do to help is to volunteer with your local emergency management program," said Governor Engler. "You can be properly trained, ready to serve and better able to help your fellow citizens."
The FAQs provide a link to the names and contact phone numbers for the 110 emergency management programs all across Michigan.
"While the risk in Michigan is very small, every citizen has a duty to be vigilant, to have a heightened sense of awareness and to be prepared," said Engler.
