Governor Announces Legal Settlement with Ameritech Resulting in Rate Cuts August 26, 2002 -- Governor John Engler today announced that the administration has reached a legal settlement with Ameritech Michigan on a long and complex federal case dealing with the End-User Common Line Charge (EUCL). The settlement results in an immediate reduction of the EUCL by approximately 15 percent for Ameritech customers, equal to about $29 million a year.
