Gov. Whitmer and the state Department of Health and Human Services announced that as of June 22, 2021, the "Gatherings and Face Mask Order" has been lifted. However, some DNR public facilities remain closed. Many state employees remain on mandatory telework and the locations they traditionally work at remain closed until at least July 12. We will announce scheduled reopenings as the facilities are prepared and staff return. Please visit our COVID reponse page for updated information on what remains closed and what is now open.
Closures and detours may take place due to improvement projects, repairs and weather-related events. Bookmark this page and find information on temporary closures and trail detours in DNR facilities, including state-designated trails, boat launches, parks and campgrounds. Information on intermittent closures may not be posted.
Rising water levels on Michigan lakes, rivers and streams can present hazards for boaters, swimmers and others enjoying the outdoors. Visit Michigan.gov/HighWaterSafety for tips on keeping you and your friends and family safe in and around the water, plus ideas for lessening the impact on fish and wildlife.
