The DNR has closed or modified public access to many locations, activities and services to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. In addition, while most public land is currently open for local day use, camping is currently prohibited on ALL state land.

Silver Lake State Park
Silver Lake State Park is home to 2,000 acres of sand dunes, including a 450-acre ORV scramble area. For information on riding the dunes, please review the park's Rules for Riding in the right-hand links.
Location: 9679 W. State Park Road, Mears, MI 49436
Dates & hours: The ORV area is open April 1 - Oct. 31
- April 1-30 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- May 1 - Sept. 15 from ;9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sept. 16 - Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Please note: Access to the ORV area and dunes is stopped ½ hour ahead of closing time each evening.
