Learn how to hunt pheasants with an experienced mentor and dog handler. This mentored pheasant hunt for youth ages 12-17 and new or novice adult hunters will be held at Shiawassee River State Game Area. We will start the day at the Saginaw Field and Stream Club for clay target shooting.

A parent or guardian must accompany hunters ages 12-17.

Hunters must wear hunter orange and bring their own shotgun and ammo (#4, 5 or 6 nontoxic shot). A limited number of shotguns will be available to borrow.

This event is sponsored by the Michigan Pheasant Hunting Initiative, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Pheasants Forever and Michigan United Conservation Clubs in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources.
