Spotted Knapweed - Invasive

Meeting location: 41.907001, -86.591755.

Come help protect the critical dune ecosystem from encroaching spotted knapweed! Volunteers will pull this noxious weed to support habitat for pitcher’s thistle. We will be working off trails so please plan to wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves and pants. We’ll be working in the open sun so please also plan to bring a hat and plenty of water. Meet at the picnic area south of the campground. Travel past the park headquarters towards the campground; the picnic area will be on the left. Please arrive on time as we will be hiking to the work location.

Please register using the volunteer registration form or via email to freih@michigan.gov. Additional information is available via the DNR Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, please visit michigan.gov/invasives.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the event contact to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
