Spotted Knapweed - Invasive

Meet at the Dodge picnic area (approx. 15 minutes from the park entrance on Kensington Road). Map: 42.50635,-83.7379

Help hand-pull spotted knapweed, an invasive weed that could take over in this neat prairie remnant if left unchecked. Removing this plant will improve habitat for native species. Please wear long pants and long sleeves as some individuals are sensitive to this plant. Volunteer stewards Toni and Ken S. will be leading this workday; contact Toni with day-of questions at 734-353-7140.

Please register using the volunteer registration form or via email to malvitzl@michigan.gov. Additional information is available via the DNR Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, please visit michigan.gov/invasives.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the event contact to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
