Actors Dressed up as native wildlife

Animal actors will share with visitors information about Michigan’s most misunderstood wildlife, their shrinking wetland habitat and how they benefit man, as you take a guided hike along a pumpkin lit trail.

Visitors may come dressed in their “Halloween best." Come prepared for the weather as most activities take place outside. This is not a “scary” or “haunted” trail; but an enchanting, educational event for the young and young at heart. Volunteer guides will conduct visitors along .3 mile paved trail. At 13 stations, high school animal actors will come out of the wetlands to share with visitors why man fears them, what makes them an important member of the wetland ecosystem and what they can do to help conserve their kind.  At the end of the trail hot refreshments for the entire family and at treat bag for each child is provided.Tour time 90 minutes. Plan 2 hours from the time you begin your tour to end.

Visitors should meet at shelter1 and 2 to meet their guide. Groups will leave every 10 minutes. For more information please contact the Saginaw Bay Visitor Center, email or call 989-667-0717.
