The MDOC Employee Wellness Unit provides professional and confidential wellness services to employees, retirees and eligible family members who are seeking wellness consulting services. Licensed Wellness Coordinators are able to help you and your family members identify strategies for resolving concerns that impact personal and work life. The Wellness Unit is also working toward a staff peer support program and staff chapliancy program, and is working to strengthen Traumatic Incident Stress Management (TISM) teams.

The mission of Work/Life Services is to help State of Michigan DOC employees and their eligible family members manage the demands of work and personal life. The online Systematic Stress Management Program (SSMP) is an interactive program composed of seven modules which can be used individually or in combination to provide a personalized system to help manage the stress in your life. It is a self-directed program and includes information on understanding stress, stress management at work, type A and type B behaviors, relaxation training, thinking differently, communication, and time management. http://www.healthylife.com/online/stress/StateOfMichigan/.
The Employee Service Program (ESP) offers services to state employees who are experiencing work-related problems, or personal concerns that are affecting their work. Any employee or their eligible family member who needs further assistance with work/life challenges can contact ESP to schedule an in-person or telephone appointment with an ESP counselor. All contact and participation with ESP is confidential, voluntary and free of charge.
